A muzzle brake is a great way to reduce the felt recoil of a rifle system. I design and manufacture my own muzzle brakes from quality 416 Stainless steel. The most effective brakes are the open port type, and i custom size these to suit your individual rifle and barrel dia, ensuring optimum performance. The downside of these brakes is the increase the perceived muzzle blast. For those who would like to keep the noise under control i recommend the micro ported brakes. These are almost as effective as the open port brakes but have far less re-directed blast and hence are less noisy. The downside of these brakes is they are not as effective at reducing recoil as the open port designs.. For more information, check out the Products page..
Of course am more than happy to fit your own supplied brake if you wish.

Muzzle Brake FAQ
Muzzle brake FAQ
Q: How much recoil reduction can i expect?
A:This really depends on the cartridge but on average the
Trentech 3 port brake will reduce felt recoil by around 40% . Basically it
comes down to bullet weight and gas production.. For example a typical modern high pressure
cartridge like the 300 Win Mag will see around 40% reduction in recoil. Something
like a low pressure 45-70 would not be as efficient because of the relatively
low pressure blast gasses. Q: Can your muzzle brakes be removed easily?
A:Yes. All of my brakes are designed to be easily removable. I supply a thread protector cap and a removal tool with every brake just for this purpose.
Q:Will a trentech brake effect accuracy? A: No. My muzzle brakes are made to the highest
standards. When fitting a Trentech brake i take great care to dial up the bore
of the barrel to be running dead true in the lathe. I thread the barrel and
screw on the brake, and once it's on tight i open out the bore of the brake
with a micro boring bar to be 0.020" over bullet dia. This ensures that the bore of the brake is
PERFECTLY in line with the bore of the barrel.
This is critical for both optimum recoil reduction performance and
accuracy.
Q: Will the Muzzle brake change my point of impact?
A: Yes.. Most rifles
will exhibit a small change in impact when shooting with and without the brake attached. This is pretty much
unavoidable for any muzzle brake as the extra weight and length of the brake can
change barrel harmonics. The result is
usually 0.5"-1" change in point of impact at 100 yards. Heavier
barrels tend to exhibit less change in impact then light sporter weight
barrels.
Q: I have a factory threaded barrel, can you make a brake to
suit this?
A: For the most part,
no. As mentioned above i go to great
lengths to ensure that the brake is perfectly in line with the bore of the
barrel. In almost every case, factory
threaded barrels have the thread running out of alignment with the bore. This
means that the brake baffles will not be perpendicular to the bullet travel and
will result in uneven gas porting and potential accuracy problems. The other issue is factory threads often vary so
wildly in tolerance that in order to ensure the brake will fit they must be made with a large tolerance. The
result is almost always a very sloppy thread fit. My brakes have a +-0.0005"
tolerance on thread size and i must therefore insist on cutting a new thread on
your barrel to suit this. This usually
means removing the old threaded section and re-threading for the correct fit.
